Drawing 1

Drawing I is concerned with developing the ability to assess the forms of the    3D space on a 2D plane. The class will study contemporary artists working with line and the broader term of ‘drawing’ and beyond with the concept of ‘mark making’. Systems of proportion, measuring and gesture are applied in class. Motion, gravity and perspective will be studied in the course as students develop a confidence to draw and expand a vocabulary to critique it.

2D Design

In this course, students develop their drawing abilities, whether they already possess experience or are just beginning to explore their creative potential as artists. Concentrating on composition, line quality, tonality and gesture, students use studies of the human figure to improve their technical skills.

Life Drawing

This course focuses in skill development in the use of software to develop storyboards and two-dimensional animation. Includes creating, importing, and sequencing media elements to create multimedia presentation, there is emphasis on conceptualization, creativity, and visual aesthetics.

Special Effects and Animation

Using these tools, students learn to visualize, plan, and model in many mediums to explore their animation potential.

Moving Image I

This is a basic introduction to making electronic moving images. The intent of  the class is to use the short project format to guide the student through several basic elements found in the video medium.

Moving Image II

This course introduces students to the production of electronic moving                                images: video camera work and digital non-linear editing. By creating short projects, students are engaged in an exploration of individual workflow.

Elements of Visual Thinking I, ESL

Elements is a non-media specific class about students and their art practice. It is designed to challenge students to play and take risks and to develop a critical voice as a maker and a viewer.
